Books
How does an individual review the New Testament? You can’t really but in saying that, you can make broader comments. I for one am certainly not getting any younger and with age comes coke-bottle glasses (attempted humour) so anything I can read under lamp light without struggling has got to be a good thing as far as I’m concerned.
I will be the first to admit that seeing the New Testament in straight book form is strange, BUT it is so much easier to read and an ideal way to educate (for want of a better word) those less knowledgeable in the Word, those who walked away and have just returned, those who have just found the Word or just enjoy reading then this comes highly recommended, even at 429 pages including 2 pages for notes.
I still own a traditional bible, in fact I own numerous including an early 1800′s copy of the KJV but to say that is light reading on a quiet night in bed, would be a slight exaggeration – it’s the family bible and will remain so. Being curious, I actually timed how long it took me to find a passage (Luke 14:23) and for the number mad amongst it took me just under 20 seconds, which included having to turn around and pick it up off the desk behind me.
One will never be able to replace the traditional format of the Bible and nor should they, but if something like the New Testament for Brothers makes it easier to spread the Word then it has to be a good thing.
I give it a rating of 4 **** stars out of 5 ****
